My Safe and Simple Makeup Routine

As a professional makeup artist, I have access to any brand of cosmetics, and I am armed with years of product and ingredient knowledge to help me sift through all of the choices that are constantly introduced to the already saturated market.

I want to make sure that the products that I put on my face and body are just as safe as the food that I choose to eat, but I also want high performing results that would stand up in professional settings with flash photography or studio lighting. It is also important to me that my money goes to companies that respect the environment and have ethical business practices.
I’ve narrowed down a simple and fast routine with what I consider to be the best performing all natural and eco-friendly products—and I have tested MANY.

Here is my 5 minute morning routine:

  1. I gently cleanse with Dr. Haushka Soothing Cleansing Milk and pat my face dry with a towel.
  2. I moisturise with Gressa Purifying Oil by warming a few drops up in my hands and then pressing the oil into my skin.
  3. I put 3 (yes, only 3!) drops of Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation in my hand, and then swirl my Hakuhodu S113 Brush into the foundation. I sweep the foundation under each eye, down the bridge of my nose, around and under my nose and on my chin and forehead. Then I use Hakuhodu Brush S5557 to blend the foundation into the skin by using circular buffing motions.
  4. I apply Gressa Lip Boost in Jolie on the apples of my cheeks with my fingers, and blend it outwards and upwards.
  5. I faintly dust W3ll People Bio Brightener Invisible Powder under my eyes and around my nose with Hakuhodu Brush S111.
  6. I lightly fill in my brows with Glossier Brow Flick in Brown.
  7. Then, I brush my brows up and slightly over with Glossier Boy Brow in Brown.
  8. I apply one coat of Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara in Black and then follow with one coat of Glossier Lash Slick.
  9. I use a gem of a lip brush I found on Amazon to apply Gressa Lip Boost in Aux Rouge to my lips. No pencil or gloss needed!
  10. I take a Muji Cotton Swab to any mascara smudges AFTER it is completely dry, and then I am ready to face the day!

Bonus product: I can’t say enough about Gressa Night Repair Elixir as my nighttime moisturizer. It’s really like a magic potion for your skin, and if you are looking for a way to treat yourself, this is it!
I’m always looking for new clean and green products to try, so please share any suggestions in the comments!
