English Rose Beauty

ORIGINAL PUBLICATION May 29, 2015 www.TheLVGuide

My recent visit to London and the sweet new addition at Buckingham Palace has rekindled my interest in the long held British standard of beauty, The English Rose.

Fresh, natural, healthy skin is always a goal in my work, so I was sure to pick up some new products on my travels to help me achieve that glow for my clients.

I visited the Charlotte Tilbury counter at Selfridges to try what is quickly becoming one of the most sought after luxury cosmetics brands. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, and the English Rose meets Rock and Roll sensibility gives the line an elegant edge and has quickly become a favourite in my kit.

Because I wanted to focus on glowing skin, my first pick was Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. It’s a lovely whipped moisturizer that rejuvenates and prepares the skin to receive makeup. I then chose Wonderglow, which wakes up the skin and delivers the most subtle sheen. The Film Star Bronze & Glow completes the look of perfect skin with a subtle champagne highlight and a true sunkissed bronze–not to mention being housed in what is arguably the most beautiful compact in department stores today.

My next stop was Boots Pharmacy to pick up one of my essentials–Boots No 7 Quick Thinking Makeup Wipes. I use these at home and in my kit, so I stock up on them whenever possible. These wipes have a subtle scent and the perfect amount of non-oily cleanser on them. It’s really impossible for me to do a makeup application without them.

While Charlotte Tilbury and Boots No 7 are both available in the US, my last beauty purchase is only available in Europe. Kiehl’s is one of my favourite American brands, but this particular product, the Vetiver & Black Tea Skin Softening Body Cleanser is a must buy when traveling out of the country. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft, and the unisex fragrance compliments any perfume.

I’m now back in NYC, and have put my purchases to the test in front of a few cameras and red carpets. I’m so pleased with the results and hope it will inspire some of you to focus on glowing, healthy skin this season!
